64 inch wide low-solvent ink machines using piezo inkjet technology primarily aimed at the outdoor graphics market. 6 colour cartridges (CMYKcm). 720 x 720 dpi

Developed under an agreement between HP and Seiko Infotech (2007). The 9000 is based on Seiko's Colorpainter.

8000 - 10 sq m /hr - 1,536 nozzle piezo, Q6670A

HP's adoption of a piezo printhead is unusual. HP developers proseletize for thermal heads and are often critical of the piezo designs used by Epson and sometimes Xerox. HP seems to accept that piezo works best with solvent inks in this case.
