![]() Common HP Laser Printer FaultsIf you repair and service your own laser printer(s), we can supply you with feed rollers, maintenance kits, fuser units, paper feed repair roller kits, and other printer spare parts.
Should you buy a New or Refurbished HP Fuser or Maintenance Kit? Some laser printers have the option to use a new or a refurbished fusers and maintenance kits. If you have only one printer and rely on it, or if you don't have experience fixing faults then buy the new spare part because they are more reliable. Refurbished fusers are less costly but they do sometimes give problems that technicians will often be able to identify and deal with. Faulty Toner Cartridge?? Certainly not unknown for toners to be faulty (most Originals rarely display faults - remanufactured toners regularly do so) Actions - (check the following) *Shake cartridge from side to side gently in a place where any toner spill can be cleaned *Check the toner Density Setting - usually in the windows driver if Toner Saving is On print will be faint *Check for dirty electrical contacts between the printer and cartridge *Check the Transfer Roller and it's contacts, these may need cleaning *The printer's scanner assembly may be dirty - (this is a difficult fault for users to resolve) *The HT Unit may have Failed - (again this is a difficult fault for users to resolve ) We can't give advance replacements for cartridges without payment - to our knowledge, nobody will. The problem is that there are too many returns where no fault is found. If a fault is found then of course we will give you a credit or a refund. It is also possible (not frequent) that rough handling when installing a new cartridge sets off a latent fault in the printer - for instance a dry joint develops in the HT unit or some stray toner migrates into a contact. Then the fault is not the cartridge and won't be cured by changing it. | ||
