Colour LaserBase MF 8180C
A colour laser printer based multifunction printer, copier, scanner and fax. The printer uses a carousel so black printing is swift and economical.
Four colour toner cartridges each act on one drum whilst the image is built up on an intermediate image belt. Colour printing is slower than for models like the MF8450 but cartridges are potentially less expensive. Since black and white print is used much more than colour in office work the low speed colour handling is often not an issue.
Uses Canon S toner allowing oil-free page fixing (spherical particles with a wax core) The resulting pages look more natural and less glossy than older colour printer designs.
