Epson Aculaser M2000D / DT / DN and DTN Mono laser printers

A series of compact but fast A4 mono laser printers aimed at business printing. High-speed 28 ppm and duplex flexibility with simple operation and low print costs.

The "D" model sold in mid 2009 for about £165 and the M2000DN for around £253. It is comparable with the HP Laserjet P2014 / P2015.

These printers are a bit unusual in having a cleanable photoconductor unit which Epson think will never need replacing. There is no mention of replacements for the developer or fuser either.

Consumables:

Epson say in one of their PDFS "Toner is the only consumable - Be assured of lower operational costs as replcement of the PCU and the fuser unit is no longer necessary."

In practice there is a toner, photoconductor (PCU), developer and fuser unit.

Toner:

Toner Cartridges: These printers use Epson's "Acubrite" toners - small particles with a 5.8um average size and uniform shape. Toners are packed in standard and high capacity catridges and Epson Returnable cartridges.
