Epson B-300 and B500DN Inkjet Printers
These two inkjet printers are big, fast colour printers intended as alternatives to a laser printer in an office environment.
The intention is clearly that these printers should be no more trouble to own than a laser printer. Epson claim colour printing with a cost per page as low as a mono laser printer.

The printhead is the same device used on Epson's large format printers. It's intended to last the life of the machine.
The main difference between them is that the "DN" model has a duplexer and a network connection as standard.

32MB - This is quite generous for an Inkjet. Inkjet printers generally need less memory than laser printers because they only have to print a swath at once, not a whole page.

These printers are designed to function perfectly well with plain office paper but speciality papers can be used for improved appearance in applications like photography
There is an ink save mode for economical printing at some reduction in output quality.
This Epson printer uses printheads that are intended to last the life of the machine. The only consumable normally needed should be ink. The printer is intended to work quite adequately with standard papers. Photographic papers can be used where image quality is a priority.
The B-500DN can take the High Capacity black and colour inks and the Extra High Capacity Black - these should give economical printing where the printer is heavily used.
The B300 only takes standard capacity cartridges.

Cartridges can be removed and replaced before they are exhausted. Part used cartridges should be stored in clean conditions and used within 6 months. (See the user manual).
