Designjet 4520 Printer Series

The Designjet 4520 is a 42 inch large format thermal inkjet printer using double-swath printing to achieve both high quality and high speed. The printer can be matched with a scanner making it a multifunction copier and document storage workstation. A stacker can be added allowing the printer to run unattended for long periods.

Handles two 175 metre long media rolls with automatic switching. Automatic cutter.
Large 775-ml Black and 400-ml colour cartridges.
Gigabit Ethernet networking, Embedded web server, Advanced access control.
Optional PostScript.
Linux PostScript driver for Linux users.

Print resolution is up to 2400x1200 giving very accurate drawings and good photographic results.

The 43 inch scanner has a resolution up to 508 dpi optical enhanced up to 9600 dpi allowing it to capture the smallest details on documents.

The scanner has an intuitive 15 inch (381mm) touchscreen with a writeable DVD drive and a graphical user interface with inutitive control software to control scanning, copying and network printing.

The Designjet 4520 is the successor to the Designjet 4000 and 4500. As might be expected it has a larger memory 608MB (was 256MB) , bigger disk at 160GB (was 40GB) and a Gigabit Ethernet Print Server (was 10/100Base-T)

Control:

The printer itself has LCD and buttons on the right of the printer body. The LCD shows user friendly animations for consumable levels.

The printer also has HP Embedded Web server for driverless file submission, queue management, preview, supplies and printer status and error notification.

The MFP scanner includes a 15 inch touchscreen display with an intuitive graphical user interface to control scanning, copying, DVD creation and network printing. The touchscreen has an Intel pentium 4 processor operating at 2.6GHz with 1GB local memory and a 40GB disk.

Scanner Abilities:

The 4520 series printers can be purchased in an MFP version which incorporates a scanner and control station. The control station has a 381mm (15 inch) touchscreen, keyboard and 2.6GHz Pentium 4 with 1GB memory and hard disk together with an embedded operating system.

HP Designjet 4520 Scanner

The HP Designjet 4520 MFP series delivers outstanding copy and scan performance. With scan speed of 76mm (3 inches) per second color and 254mm (10 inches) per second black and white, A1-size (D-size) prints are produced in less than 1 minute. The wide bodied scanner uses 3 CCD cameras to give excellent image quality at up to 508 dpi optical resolution. Enhanced optical resolution is up to 9600 dpi and line accuracy is to 0.1%. The scanner gives high quality data from original documents even where creases and folds have distorted the image.

Straight-through scan paper path for sheet and cardboard originals.

The scanner has its own 1GB memory and 40GB disk.

Media Types: Non-abrasive paper, vellum, mylar, sepia, blueprints, plastic, film, plastic laminate, foam board, cardboard. No plywood, no stone plates, no metal plates nor abrasive dirty, rough, sharp edged, metal clamped, or burned surfaces.

Compatability: The 4250 scanner is primarily intended to complement the fast printing of the Designjet 4520 printer but it is compatible with the Designjet 500/510, 800, 1000/1055, 4000/4020, 4500/4520, 5000/5500, T610, T1100/T1120, Z6100, Z2100 and Z3100/Z3200. There are Windows drivers for these products.
