HP Laserjet 1160 Printer - Q5933A
Laser Printer with a small footprint. Basic monochrome print on A4 and letter page sizes. Primarily intended as a personal printer with low purchase cost, simple maintenance with a single cartridge and control from a local computer.
High speed for a personal printer - up to 19 pages per minute. Instant-on fuser gives a first page out in under 9 seconds. 600x600 dpi optical resolution and FastRes 1200.
There are non of the expansion options available on the LJ4100 etc, the LJ1160 just provides the basics of reasonably fast printing.
A slightly faster and expandable version of the LJ1160 is the LJ1320.
3 lights (toner, attention, ready) which can indicate more complex sates via patterns. 2 buttons (go and cancel). There is a control panel simulator for Windows on the CD-ROM. HP Toolbox controls. HP Web Jetadmin capable.
19 pages per minute for A4 paper.
600x600 dpi with HP REt and FastRes giving the effect of 1200 dpi.
A4 and letter sized path, There is one standard tray intended for standard paper sizes and a single-sheet priority tray from which the printer will take pages when they are present.
Priority Tray:Sizes A4, A5, A6, etc 3x5 to 8.5x14 inches (76x127 to 216x356 mm). Weights from 60 to 105 gsm using the straight-through path and up to 163 gsm using the standard output bin.
Standard Tray:Sizes A4, A5, B5 etc 147x211 to 216x356 mm. A4 page minimum margin is 4mm on all sides.
Paper Path:- the standard path is S shaped.

The laserjet 1160 and 1320 both use the same fuser.

Replacing the HP 1160 / 1320 fuser is not the easy job expected with most recent printers. All the covers have to be removed, so does the fan, the duplex or face-down gear, several other gears and the formatter. Instructions are given in the service manual.
Spares for the LJ1160 are the same as for the LJ1320.
