HP F2G70A Floorstand

For Laserjet M604, M605, M606 Series Printers

The floorstand is a tough little metal base with castors and a couple of adjustable legs. It provides a base for a printer and a tower of accessories to stand on. There are locking slots and posts to hold the trays in place.

The printer on a set of accessory trays can get rather tall and a bit top-heavy. The stand gives a wider base that resists accidents that might make the machine fall over.

This kind of printer can need those extra trays.   At 62 pages per minute the M606 can use a tray full of paper in just 8 minutes, giving an operator very little time for a coffee break.

Adding the 1500 page front loading cabinet gives the printer a half hour worth of paper - although someone still has to collect the print jobs from the top - hence the 5 bin mailbox accessory.

With a full complement of trays the printer can have enough paper to keep it busy for an hour. Furthermore there are trays for letterhead and contiunation as well as a bulk feed of ordinary office paper from the 1500 sheet feeder.

The floorstand does come with instructions although they are presumably a bit superfluous - put the castors in and screw the feet down.

If space is critical (and with London rents that happens) it is worth noting that you can't assume the machine can just stand in a corner. Whilst all the trays and nearly all the access hatches face forwards there is the innevitable chance of a paper jam at the rear. The castors are some help but the feet do need to be down to ensure that if all the trays are opened when fully loaded for some reason the printer won't tilt forward.

The printer stand can be a critical dimension as it is one of the widest points.

The stand can be used to turn the printer into a desk-side unit as shown. This gives the paper capacity of the 1500 sheet tray and reduces interventions to re-load paper.

Supply Situation

Printers are often placed on desks or side-tables and there are not massive sales of the stands which tend to be ordered in from HP. That can mean a few days wait.

In April and June 2015 no distributor had immediate stock.

Usually available for delivery in 5-7 days - our catalogue pages reflect the daily situation.
