Lexmark C710

Lexmark C710

Lexmark Colour Laser C710 Printer. An A4 colour laser printer using a carousel mechanism to give fast mono printing at 16 pages per minute with a slower colour capability of just 3 pages per minute. The direct competitor was the HP Colour LaserJet 1500 / 2500.

The C710 is also known as model 5016-001 and was introduced in September 2000 so it's one of the first phase of low-cost colour printers. By today's standards its 3ppm rating might seem too slow and it's quite a big machine so it might be considered obsolescent. The model wasn't on the market long being replaced by the C720 / Model 5024-001 in May 2001; this doubled the colour speed to a more acceptable 6 pages per minute.

There are several models, the basic C710, a C710n network variant and a C710dn variant with duplex, network and 64MB base memory. All three models seem to be 5016-001.

The printer is also called the "Optra C710". On this model the Optra name seems optional

The X242MFP is a multifunction version.
