OKI B6000 Series. B6250, B6300, B6500

The OKI B6000 series are fast mono laser printers. The models in the series are basically the same but work at different speeds. The faster printers have bigger trays and cartridges as well. OKI ships differing software bundles with the different models. Each model has an "N" network model and a "DN" duplex and network version.

All models print at true 1200 dpi resolution and have PCL and PostScript as standard languages.

Options include add network. Paper tray options. Compact Flash for fonts and logo storage. Hard disk

Oki are not the only users of this print engine and the B6250 is used quite gently (see Epson and Konica-Minolta).

OKI Say "Consumables Information: For the protection of your printer, and in order to ensure that you benefit from its full functionality, this model has been designed to operate only with genuine OKI Printing Solutions toner cartridges. These can be identified by the OKI trademark. Any other toner cartridge may not operate at all, even if it is described as “compatible”, and if it does work, your printer’s performance and print quality may be degraded."

OKI are rather coy about this being a laser printer.

Software: B6000 series Utility Suite.

Template Manager - Ready made templates for promotional material, labels and business cards. Ships with all models.

Other elements in the utilty suite differ by models.

Secure Print - A PIN is assigned to print jobs and they don't print until its given at the printer controls. (This feature requires a printer hard-disk).

PDF Print Direct - PDF files can be sent stright to the printer without opening them on the PC. (This feature requires a printer hard-disk).

PrintSuperVision - Allows IT staff to monitor all kinds of printers regarless of make. User interface is a standard web browser. This utility only works with Microsoft Windows.

HP Web Jetadmin - plug in files allowing OKI printers to be adminsterd by HP Web Jetadmin.
