Description

This is the left hinge  for Kyocera FS-1118MFP and similar printers with the DP-100 Document Processor – more commonly known as an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF). The service manual gives the part number 3HK03010 but the part seems available in Europe as 303HK03012.

The  Left hinge looks identical to the right in the service manual, but has a different part number and apparently is different – probably spring pressure is higher next to the ADF motor.   The Right hinge is 3HK03020.

Printers with the simple scanner cover need hinge 2DC11060, which is white in colour.

Secured to the scanner lid with a couple of screws. The hinge contains a spring that acts as a counterbalance for the lid.

Like many cover and ADF hinges it has a tendency to fly apart.

This hinge is the left hand side  for models with the ADF unit (HP call it the “Optional Document Processor”).

The product sometimes has the prefix 30 as in 303HK03010 and 303HK03012

In the US these printers are known under the “Copystar” brand, whilst “TA”, “Triumph Adler” and “Utax” in Continental Europe.

Oddly they don’t use the same numbers so the Copystar KM-1820 is the Kyocera FS1118MFP.
