If your average print-job is a report, legal agreement or finance document then the chances are that it will run to more than two sides in length and be stapled in the corner. It saves time if the printer can do that for you.

HP accessories are sometimes much cheaper under engineering codes. However note that warranty cover is 90 day return to base – and not the one year warranty HP UK seems to offer on full retail product.
