Printer Faults - Attention Light

Attention lights are the "everything else" message. This may mean that a paper tray isn't properly pushed back.

However this is also typically a warning that something more problematic has happened. More information is often available from a secondary light or code. The secondary code is typically given if the user presses or holds "go" See the user manual for the printer for details as there are no standards.

If you don't have the user manual (in a heap of discarded CDs), search engines are often helpful. A phrase such as -

  • "aculaser C900" "reference guide" filetype:pdf
  • "Laserjet CM4540" "user guide" filetype:pdf

Some manufacturers are more benevolent than others in making user manuals easy to find online.
