Brother HL-6050

A4 Mono Laser Printer intended for office use in small workgroups. A Network Model is available as is Duplex capabilty. Secure print is a noteable feature - many printers at this price level don't incorporate this.

The printers have features like automatic email notification of printer status, useful for support in small workgroups. Barcode printing is particularly useful in retailing.

The HL-6050 was introduced in December 2003 and is the successor to models like the HL-1240.

As Brother frequently do this printer has seperate Toner and Drum Units giving economical use.

Troubleshooting and Error Messages:

TRAY 1 refers to Upper paper tray

MP TRAY refers to Multi-purpose tray

TRAY 2 refers to Optional Lower tray

Error Message and Action as indicated :

BACK TRAY CLOSED :Open the back output tray. Push down the two blue levers, and then press Go
BACK TRAY OPEN: Close the back output tray located at the back of the printer.
BUFFER ERROR : Check the Interface settings.

CARD ERROR : Make sure of the following:

The CompactFlashTM card is installed properly.
The installed CompactFlashTM card is formatted properly
Turn off the printer. Wait a few seconds, then turn it on again. If this error message appears again, replace the CompactFlashTM card with a new one.

CARTRIDGE ERROR : Take out the toner cartridge and put it back into the printer again.

CHECK NET BOARD : The installed network board is not compatible. Please install the recommended network board.

CHECK NET VER : The firmware version of the installed network board is not up to date. Please update the firmware by accessing the Brother Solutions Center at http://solutions.brother.com

CLEAN DRUM UNIT : Open the front cover. Take out the drum unit assembly. Gently slide the blue tab of the drum unit across several times.

DIMM ERROR : Re-install the DIMM correctly.Turn off the printer. Wait a few seconds, and then turn it on again. If this error message appears again, replace the DIMM with a new one.

DOWNLOAD FULL : Add more memory.

DX LEVER ERROR : Move the lever at the back of the printer to the correct paper size position; A4, Letter or Legal

ERROR FUSER : Turn the power switch off, wait a few seconds and then turn it on again. Leave the printer for 15 minutes with the power on.

FONT FULL : Add more memory.
