Canon DR-1210C

Canon's DR-1210C is a document scanner intended for general office use. Functionally it is quite similar to the scanners built onto Multifunction printers (MFPs) with the obvious advantage being that the DR-1210C can be used where no printer is wanted - and where printers are wanted the use of a separate scanner makes them less bulky and perhaps easier to maintain.

The feature set improves on what is provided with the average Multifunction printer in some respects - the features and bundled software may be a bit better than ordinarily offered with printers.

One potential disadvantage with the DR-1210C is that the ADF is front-side only, it doesn't have built in duplex capability.

The DR-1210C is no longer available new from Canon. Its replacement is the DR-2020U which is somewhat faster at 20 pages per minute and has a higher capacity 50 page ADF.
