One of the main selling points for the Designjet 100 and its relatives (the Designjet 10, 20, 30, 50, 70, 90, 110, 120 and 130) is that as low cost devices they allow architects and engineers to do their printing in-house, without the expense and delay of a print-shop.

The designjet 100 and 110 are four colour 1200x600dpi machines with a 24 inch paper path. The 120 and later 130 have a 6 colour 2400 x 1200 capability. The newer printers are better suited to photography but not markedly better at diagrams

The Designjet 100 and 100+ are very similar: 24 inch "A1" paper width, four colour thermal inkjet technology with separate 300 nozzle heads and ink supplies.

The DesignJet 110 plus is similar - more memory and better paper handling.
