HP DesignJet CP Series - 2000CP / 3000CP and 2500CP and 3500CP.
Large format colour printers; the 54 inch model can print large posters on media up to 150 feet long. Four colour thermal inkjet system using the "CP" ink system.
The 2000CP and 3000CP are designed for an external RIP - either software on a PC or an External stand-alone unit. External RIPs provide direct printing of more file types such as JPEG, GIF and EPS.

The 2500CP and 3500CP have an Adobe PostScript 3 Built-in RIP, 4.3GB hard disk and a Jetdirect card.This made them a bit more expensive but they were ready to print right out of the box. (No need to set up a potentially complicated external RIP)

The related 2800CP and 3800CP are similar printers with a potentially faster EFI Fiery X2-CP external RIP.
The DesignJet 5000 and 5500 offer similar funtionality but are about 5 times faste

These are 72 Pin SIMMs of Fast Page Mode (FPM) memory with 60ns access time. Parity doesn't seem to be essential. ( One source suggests EDO 66MHz Non Parity which may work )
Interface:
IEEE-1284 Parallel. The 2500/3500CP models have a JetDirect interface card.
Print Languages:
The DesignJet 2000CP/ 3000CP supports HP-GL/2, RTL, CALS, CGM-ATA. The DesignJet 3500CP/ 3500CP also has Adobe PostScript 3. The CP series also support HP Varware language for RIP control.

Microsoft Windows 3X, NT, Apple Mac 7.1-80. Unix support ZEHRaster for HP.

Consumables:
Choice of two ink sets: dye based inks for photo quality. Pigment based UV inks for lightfastness. Auto-replenishment ink delivery for easy replacement. Complete ink-set change in less than 10 minutes. Automatic printhead alignment.
The ink capacity allows up to 200 square metres of print between changes.
