HP DesignJet 4020

A fast large format printer 1067mm (42 inches) wide. Four colour thermal inkjet using a CMYK process. Speed is achieved using a double-swath printhead arrangement with 2 printheads for each colour. Printheads are fast designs with 524 nozzles each. High capacity 400ml cartridges and long-life replaceable printheads give low operating costs. The printer has remote management capabilities using HP embedded Web Server and remote printer management making it easy to control jobs, monitor ink and media consumption.

Primarily aimed at engineeering and cartographic uses.

The DesignJet 4500 is a similar printer with extra features such as dual roll-feed with automatic switching and forms. The 4500 can be matched with a 42 inch scanner providing multi-function printer abilities and with a forms stacker for continual unattended printing.

HP suggests the 4020 is suited to applications with an average throughput of about 400 prints per month.
