HP Designjet 815MFP series

The HP DesignJet 815 MFP is/was a wide format multifunction printer, scanner and copier integrated into a single unit. It provides workflow integration for cartographic and engineering environments handling oversized documents up to 43 inches wide and any length - subject to memory.

The machine was introduced around 2003 (judging by the brochures) and replaced by the 820MFP in 2006.   It was based on a 42 inch 800ps printer and a DJ4200 43 inch high resolution scanner with touch screen and keyboard added. The DesigJet 815MFP was intended to provide an intuitive graphical interface to steer users through copying, scanning to CD or into network files.

The DesignJet 820 MFP Q6685A has an improved scanner - a bit higher resolution and twice as fast. It can scan to DVD as well and the support processor is improved too - a Pentium IV at 2.6GHz and 23GB disk.

Control:

LCD touch Panel with easy to navigate menus. Scan preview, Scan to file, Scan to CD-ROM, Scan to print, Collate copy, Copy.

Print Speed:

Similar specification to the DesignJet 800. A1 black diagrams in 60 seconds, colour in 90 seconds.

Print Resolution:

2400x1200 dpi. Minimum line width is 0.0423mm (0.002 inch) and Line accuracy is +/- 0.2% or 0.38mm whichever is greater.

Paper Handling:

Printer: A00 42 inch machine- Sheet feed, roll feed, automatic cutter.

Memory:

256 MB RAM in the printer, 14GB disk for scan jobs.

Interface:

IEEE 1284 compliant Centronics parallel (ECP).

Network:

EIO Slot with JetDirect 615n installed

Print Languages:

Standard on all models is HP-GL/2, HP RTL, CALS G4 and Adobe PostScript 3.

Consumables:
