HP Laserjet 2300 Printer

Fast mono printer suiting individuals through to medium sized workgroups. The printer has an LCD control panel which others in this series lack. Flexible connection options inculde parallel and USB as standard and an EIO slot for a network connection. The large cartridge and duplex unit give economical printing.There is also an EconoMode setting to save toner.

There are six models in the series:

  • 2300L Printer - Q2477A - 20ppm. Tray +2, 32MB RAM max 288MB
  • 2300 Printer - Q2472A - 24ppm, Tray 1+2, 32MB RAM max 288MB
  • 2300n Printer - Q2473A - 24ppm, Tray 1+2, Network. 48MB RAM max 304MB.
  • 2300d Printer - Q2474A - 24ppm, Tray 1+2, Duplex, 48MB RAM max 304MB.
  • 2300dn Printer - Q2475A - 24ppm, Tray 1+2, Duplex, Network, 48MB RAM max 304MB
  • 2300dtn Printer - Q2476A -24ppm, Tray 1+ 2+ 500 sheet Tray 3, Duplex, Network 48MB RAM max 304MB

The LaserJet 2300L is similar in specification to the LJ2200 but has more memory and the "advantages" of a smart cartridge.

Control:

The control panel has an LCD display and LED status indication. Network models have an embedded web server for device settings and cartridge management.

Duty Cycle:

2300L up to 30,000 pages per month. Other models 50,000ppm. Cartridge yield 6,000 pages at 5% page cover.

Up to 25 pages per minute for ANSI letter sized paper, 24ppm for A4. The 2300L gives just 19 ppm.

To 1200x1200 dpi. FastRes 1200 and ProRes 1200 text and image enhancements.

Paper Handling:

A4 and letter paper

Tray 1:Multifunction tray for letterhead, envelopes and custom media. There is a straight through path from tray 1 to the rear output bin allowing heavier media. Weight 60 to 163 g/m2

Tray 2:250 sheet for 250-sheet maximum capacity for standard paper sizes Letter, A4, A5, B5 etc. Weight 60 to 105 g/m2

Tray 3: is optional and takes A4 or letter.Using an optional 250 sheet tray as tray 3 allows ANSI legal paper to be used, the 500 sheet tray only takes A4 and letter.

Duplex:

Automatic duplex on "D" models

Memory:

Most models come with 48MB RAM and can be expanded to 304MB using 100 pin SDRAM DIMMs. 2CF slots available for e-forms, barcode printing etc. Note that the basic 2600L model has only 8MB of RAM and needs an additional 16MB for the JetDirect print server to work correctly.

Interface:

USB and parallel IEEE 1284 port with B connector and ECP. Single EIO slot for a JetDirect. Network: Jetdirect installed on "N" models.

HP PCL 5e, PCL 6, HP PostScript 3 Emulation. Automatic language determination and switching.

System Compatability:

Microsoft Windows 95, 98, Me, Nt4, 2000, XP. IBM OS/2. Mac OS 8.6 and OS X. Unix, Linux etc.

110 to 127VAC and 220 to 240VAC models
