HP Laserjet 3200

The LaserJet 3200 was a multifunctional printer styled like a rather chunky fax machine with a vertical scanner slot and a keyboard and display angled appropriately for locating on a desk. The target market was small offices and the promotional literature specifically mentions telecommuters. The mail and file functions would be particularly useful for home workers. Styling appeals to traditionalists - this machine looks like a fax, something the strange mushroom shapes of the LJ3055 and LJ3300MFP don't immediately suggest.

As might be expected with an MFP machine some of the functionality of the LJ3200 is in the bundled software and "document director" interface. As well as the fax, copy and scan functions it offers scan to e-mail, OCR and document archiving functions. Users can view, edit, index and search scanned documents. There is even a publish-to web function that sends a scanned document straight to a web site.

The "se" was aimed at retail customers and the "m" is intended for use with Apple Mac.

Some material on the LJ3200 suggests it was only sold in the US and Canada.
