HP Laserjet 5100

Wide-format mono laser printer with A3 and 11x17inch capability. Specific targte markets are CAD drawings, graphics artists proofs and spreadsheets.

  • HP LaserJet 5100 - Q1860A- : 2 paper trays, 100+250 sheet input capacity, 16 MB RAM.
  • HP LaserJet 5100TN - Q1861A-: has Ethernet print server and an additional 500-sheet tray 3.
  • HP LaserJet 5100DTN - Q1862A -: 32MB has Ethernet print server, an additional 500-sheet tray 3 and an auto-duplex unit.

The LaserJet 5100 is an enhancement of the LJ5000 with more memory. It was then replaced by the more radically redesigned LJ5200. That engine also appears as the M5025MFP.

2 line LCD panel -. The network models have an embedded web server.

Duty Cycle:

HP claim 65,000 pages per month

Up to 21 pages per minute A4/letter and up to 11ppm A3 and 11x17 inch pages. First page out in less than 13 seconds.

ProRes 1200. 1200x1200 dpi with Resolution Enhancement Technology "REt".

Paper Handling:

Up to A3 paper size - paper path handles 12.8x18.5 inches.

Multifunction Tray 1:is a pull down tray and takes up to 100 sheets of paper in the range 3x5 to 12.8x18.5 inches.

Tray 2:inserts in the printer base and holds 250 sheets of A4 or A3. Pper sizes 5.8x8.3 to 11.7x17 inch.

Optional Tray 3:Fits under the printer and can be a 250 or 500 sheet type for A4 and A3. The printer can handle a maximum of 4 trays. Output is normally to the face-down bin on the top of the printer. A face-up bin on the rear allows heavier media to be handled. The "DTN" model is fitted with an automatic duplex unit. Its optional on other models.

Processor:

All models in the 5100 series have 300MHz processors.

Memory:

16MB on the base model, 32MB installed on the tn and dtn modesl expandable to 192MB.

Interface:

IEEE 1284 Parallel port. 2 x open EIO slots on the base model.

Network:

"N" models have a JetDirect 620n EIO 10/100 print server installed.

HP PCL 5e, HP PCL 6, HP-GL/2. PostScript 3 emulation.

System Compatability:

DOS, WIndows NT, OS/2, Mac OS. Unix and Linux using PostScript. Microsoft Windows 9X, NT4.0, Windows 2000, Me, XP, AutoCAD 12, 13, 14, 15. Apple MAC OS X.
