The LaserJet 9000 was launched in 2001; the print engine is very similar to the LaserJet 9040 and 9050 launched in September 2004.

Control:

4 line 20 character display, navigation keys and a 10-key numeric pad. Supports the advanced management features of HP Web Jetadmin. Embedded web server for remote management.

Duty Cycle:

Maximum of 300,000 pages per month. This is one of HP's most heavy duty printers.Print cartridge life is 30,000 pages and Maintenance kit life is 350,000 pages.

50 ppm for A4, 28 ppm for A3. First page out in about 8 seconds

Scanner Abilities:

A scanner is provided for the MFP model. A3 600x600dpi RGB data. Colour scanning at up to 24 ppm. Black and white text at up to 50 pages per minute. JPEG scan format converted to send formats tiff/m-tiff/ pdf / jpeg. Digital sending software is available as an option.

Basic mechanism is 600 x 600 dpi enhanced by HP Fastres 1200 and Ultraprecise toner.

Paper Handling:

A3, A4, A5, B4, B5 from most trays

Tray 1:100 sheet multifunction tray folding down from the side. A3, A4 A5 etc 64 to 216

Tray 2:500 sheet trays in the lower part of the printer 297x450 mm max 64 to 199 gsm.

Duplex:

Auto-Duplex optional - provided built-in on "D" models.

Memory:

64MB as standard expandable to 384MB using 100-pin DIMM. There are 2 x DIMM sockets. Memory use enhanced by MEt

Interface:

IEEE 1284 parallel port. 3x EIO slots typically occupied by a JetDirect network card (615N), and optionally by a hard disk and a copy controller.

HP PCL 5e, HP PCL 6, HP Postscript level 3 emulation. HP Printer Job Language (PJL) and Printer Management Language (PML)
