Reliable Remanufactured Cartridges

Control Panels for HP P4014 and M601 Series Printers.
One of the distinctions between professional printers and the cheaper sort is having a control panel. It isn't a very expensive add-on and it often isn't used all that much, users control the printer via the drivers on their computer. However when something goes wrong, or something needs to be set up a control panel is very helpful.
The P4014 and P4015 / P4515 use different control panels
- RM1-5059 is the full featured panel for the P4015 and P4515
- RM1-5060 lacks the numeric keys for entering pin numbers.
The P4015 and P4515 control panel are very like the keyboards found on calculators or desk phones; a display and an LCD screen. The P4014 doesn't have PIN controlled printing so HP took the opportunity to cut costs a bit (or reduce the marketing appeal) and lose the numeric keypanel.
Printer control panels have varied from a single minimalist light showing the machine is turned on to big screens reminiscent of tablet computers. Easily affordable screens haven't been able to display enough information to make the kind of graphical navigation people expect on computers practical. These printers have a graphics capable but small screen with sufficient resolution for four lines of text - in other words it's like the screen on an old mobile phone. To navigate through the menus you need to be familiar with them, print them out, or have the user guide to hand. A couple of the new M605 series printers introduced in 2015 have full graphical displays - albeit small ones.
If the printer isn't familiar use the up-down and OK buttons to navigate to INFORMATION > PRINT MENU MAP
Control panels don't go wrong much but they do get broken.

Partsurfer is sometimes a wayward guide but it seems that although the M601 control panel (RM1-8289) looks as though it might fit in the hole it may not work.

Repairs - Supply Situation
It will be necessary to remove the top cover of the printer to get at the clips securing the control panel.
If you need a replacement panel they are available both new and refurbished in the catalog.
In July 2013 these parts are available new and refurbished.
Note that whilst the control panel is the main obvious difference between the P4014 and P4515 just changing it won't make one printer into the other. The panel is essentially just a dumb peripheral
