HP P4014, P4015 and P4515 Printer Parts - Covers.

The P4010 series printers were introduced in early 2008 and on the market until 2011.   Replacement models were the LaserJet Enterprise 600 M601 series which looked very similar but actually used a new set of motors and a different formatter. Principles remained the same but they were a bit different inside.   In 2015 the M604 series (M604, M605, M606) were introduced - they look quite different but are actually similar to the M601 series inside.

The P4014, P4015 and P4515 are good printers but had some problems, notably with firmware. For corporate leasing and support arrangements they are at the end of their lives but experience with older models suggest some will remain in service for a decade yet. The M601 ,M602 and M603; give much the same print speeds with a few improved features.   If you just want a printer there are no unarguable reasons to upgrade.

The P4014 has a different set of covers - it is all white whilst the others have areas of black highlighting.

Most of the covers are orderable new or available as pulls from machines. We don't list all of them in the catalog - they aren't wanted very often. If a part isn't listed in the catalog email and ask.  

Key to cover removal are four screws in the top cover, two under the accessory cover and two under the cartridge door. Before lifting the cover the print-cartridge drive arm needs to be released and lowered inside the machine - use needle nosed pliers or forceps to squeeze the pins on the arm.

Before the top will lift free there are a couple of tabs behind slots at the bottom of the paper-out tray that need releasing.

The remaining covers are mainly held in place by tabs. The service manual gives a thorough work-through of their locations.
