HP RC2-2459 Rear Cover or "Option Cover" for HP P4014 and M601 Series Printers.

top-right-photo

HP Part RC2-2459 is the cover for the slot at the rear where an optional stacker/stapler or mailbox can be fitted. With the possible exception of models that come with the stacker or mailbox every printer will be shipped with one of these, however they might get broken or lost.

It's the same part on the P4014, P4015 and P4515 printers and on the Enterprise 600 M601, 602 and 603.

The part is nothing more than a long thin plastic cover in grey-white plastic with an air vent in it. It clips into place.

We do not know of any faults that implicate this part

HP Information

Research in August 2013 gave the following results from HP Partsurfer:

RC2-2459-000CN Option cover - Mounts on the top cover assembly

... a wildcard query gave nothing. The part design has almost certainly never been altered.

Icecat says RC2-2459-000CN is EAN/UPC 5711045457487. There had been 19 product views suggesting some slight interest and it was identified as a chassis component.

No alternative part numbers are known.

Models using this parts are the P4014, P4015 and P4515 printers and the Enterprise 600 M601, 602 and 603. The only models not using it are those with staplesr sttacker and mailbox fitted.

Prices noted are for a new item without tax. The list is as encountered. We haven't bothered with currency conversion - half of our readers are outside the UK and are more interested in dollar prices.

During research it was rather noticeable that Google images was predominantly wrong about this part. Most of the imagery is comming from brokers who hasve misidentifed the item as some other part of the cover.

Non of the vendors listed offered any information about the part, but then there isn't much to say. The part just clips in.

Supply Situation

This kind of thing has one global manufacturer and it is probably available from them on 3-5 day lead time. It seems unlikely that any compatible manufacturer would attempt to make a component likely to have such a low demand and small market profile.

In July 2013 these parts are mainly available refurbished.

The part is listed by three distributors but the only one showing dtock at the time of research has 6 refurbs in stock. We think demand for the part is zero, they stripped 6 printers a few months ago.

We can provide these parts when required. The price is about £10 which largely reflects the logistics of obtaining one.

These are guidelines, our prices change with distribution lists - see the catalog. Stock numbers indicate there is not much call for the part.
