HP RM1-4576 Front Guide for LaserJet P4014 Series Printers.

RM1-4576 is the right front guide for the tray in the P4014, P4015 and P4515 Printers. The right front guide, right guide RM1-4558 and size detect assembly RM1-4525 make up the right rail for the cassette tray (tray 2).

The same part is used on all models of the printer P4014 series. Something very similar was used on the predecessor LaserJet 4200 machines and on the Enterprise 600 M601 etcetera, but it isn't identical.

The RM1-4576 is a moderately complex plastic moulding typical of case parts on modern printers. It is probably ABS.

RM1-4576 is just a cassette guide, the only real feature being a hole for cog RL1-1658 which is the paper retard drive shaft.

It is difficult to see how this kind of part could create a fault, other than that it might get broken - and even if the printer fell this isn't an exposed part. We think HP list it because it exists. The UK distributors list the part but only carry stock of refurbs.

There are no known repairs or diagnostic procedures associated with this part.

HP and Parts Information

HP Partsurfer says this for the part in July 2013:

RM1-4576-000CN Right front guide assembly - For tray 2

and lists the ten printers in the P4014 series.

According to Icecat RM1-4576-000CN is EAN/UPC 5711045582950. Product views were zero in August 2013 suggesting precisely NO interest in this part.

Tradebin had 10 people offering the part, 8 of them offering refurbs - almost all from the Netherlands.

RM1-4576

The part will be known by it's long HP number RM1-4576-000CN and potentially

The same part fits all the models in the P4010 series - P4014, P4015 and P4515 in the N, DN, DTN and X variants. There is no reason why the part should change between greatly between models.

Web Research

As usual the Web contains a great number of offers to sell the part - Google suggests 152,000 results. We don't know of any prominent use for it. As a bit of fun we did a bit of research on the price.

Chip £3.76 discounted to £3.60, lambda-tek £5.54, partshere $6.20, impactcomputers $20.74 discounted to $17.00, sparepartswarehouse $8.48, uk-computers £4.59, newfuser $6.40, amazon advert, IDNS RFQ, Everprint $ 80.34, Amazon -almost completely blank, techpartswarehouse RFQ, com-com RFQ, memory4less refurb RFQ, hpq-parts $18.70, Amazon £18.00, pinnaclemicro $89.70, markit 10.63, tradebin no price, tradebin (again), dectrader $25.00, emprgroup $8.70, powersourceonline RFQ, liberty no price, buyhpupgrades $504.00 discounted to $420.00, itspares $8.81 aus, advanteco RFQ, ambry quote only, upgradexperts $108.00.

Prices noted are for a new item without tax. The list is as encountered. We haven't bothered with currency conversion - half of our readers are outside the UK and are more interested in dollar prices.

If you do need to fit a new front guide it may be a bit of a nightmare - the retard shaft needs to be removed, which means taking the pickup drive assembly off.

Supply Situation

Whilst three UK distributors list this part non hold original manufacturer stock, it may be available on 5-7days from HP. One UK distributor lists it as available refurbished - as a "pull" from decommissioned machines. Price would be around £3.

These are guidelines, our prices change with distribution lists - see the catalog . Whilst a lot of people list this part stock numbers indicate there is not much call for it. HP presumably anticipated some small demand or they wouldn't have bothered to list it in the service manual.
