Samsung CLP-300 and CLP-300N Colour Laser Printers

The CLP-300 uses rather small 1,000 page colour toners - reasonable for a printer pitched to compete with inkjets but disappointing in a laser printer. (Apparently they are quite easy to refill with toner powder and then need to be re-chipped)

The CPL350N looks different but uses a similar mechanism slightly more quickly. The consumables have double the capacity - 2,000 page colour toners.

The CLX-3160FN is a multifunction printer-scanner based on the same engine.

Samsung's design uses a cylindrical toner cartridge that engages a long thin developer. There are four developers round the drum. The original manufacturers brochures suggest Samsung were very taken with the design but Internet research suggests it might have had some problems.
